Loud & Proud: Keeping Falls on the Edge

Falls Festival 2009

Get ready to rock. Get ready to roll, as Tasmania’s finest come out to play. The Falls Music and Arts Festival has teamed with the finger-on-the-pulse folks of Edge Radio to revel in the wondrous music coming from this fine state in an effort to raise the profile's of local musicians. 

So, it’s time to get up and show your musical prowess.  Tassie is full of an array of musical genius’ hiding in the mountains, by the sea and in the cities….so this is your opportunity to jump onstage and see your name up in lights at this year’s Falls Festival in Marion Bay.

We want you to perform at the event, alongside national and international superstars and gain some valuable experience at a rather big gig, whilst meeting all sorts of interesting and helpful characters back stage.  For your opportunity to deliver some fine tunes to thousands of appreciative fans (old and new) then Edge Radio & The Falls Music and Arts Festival want to hear from YOU. 

Edge Radio and The Falls Music and Arts Festival are currently calling for submissions from Tasmanian based acts for their chance to be included in this year’s exciting line-up, in Marion Bay, Tasmania from Dec 29th 2009, to Jan 1st 2010. 

From the submissions received, a shortlist of performers will be invited to be part of a live event:

  • 30th of September at Irish Murphy’s in Launceston  
  • 1st of October at The Republic Bar & Cafe in Hobart

Acts will then be selected from these showcase events to perform at The Falls Music and Arts Festival’s spectacular Marion Bay home. 

To be part of the selection process:

  • Download a submission form here
  • Send the completed submission form, along with a hard copy of your bio, and most recently recorded material by Thurs Sept 10th
  • This year we also require you to include a data CD containing your bio in word document format, a 150 word(max) blurb, and 2 x photos one horizontal, one vertical (min 300 dpi) and under 1MB each.

  • PLEASE NOTE: We receive hundreds of CDs every week - failure to accurately address your submission will result in it getting lost. Submissions that do not include the submission form will not be accepted.
  • If you made a submission last year please re-apply
