Edge Radio Recommends

08/03/2010 - 21/03/2010
  • Paint Your Golden Face (TAS) - Self Titled (Tenzenmen)
  • Hobartian minimalist pop duo Paint Your Golden Face build upon the success of their recent tour of mainland Australia & New Zealand with the release of their debut album. Their distinctive sound features looped drum beats with confrontational vocals.

  • Jimmy Hawk - Echo Park (First Love Records/MGM)
  • Australian singer-songwriter Jimmy Hawk follows up his 2009 EP, 'Born On A Mountain', with his first full-length effort. Echo Park is a further step forward for Hawk, and demonstrates his gift for melody and songcraft.

  • Houlette - Bless Bless (Exo Records)
  • Five-piece Melbourne group Houlette's first album, Bless Bless, combines a mix of folk influences with modern pop sensibility and atmosphere. Watch out for them on the Tassie leg of their Australian tour.

  • Turin Brakes - Outbursts (Shock)
  • 'Outbursts' is the fifth studio album from London two-piece Turin Brakes. After exploring a more 'rock' sound on their previous release, Outbursts sees a return to their folkier roots, with the addition of occasional orchestration (complete with kazoo!).

  • Ebony Bones - Bone of My Bones (PIAS)
  • British lass Ebony Bones is the opposite of bland. Her eccentric live performances are renowned for their vibrance & colour, & this translates seamlessly to record, making her debut 'Bone of My Bones' a chaotic, catchy & irrepressibly energetic album.
