22/08/2007 - 'Community Media Matters' Report
The 'Community Media Matters' report, released last week, contains some important findings about how community stations connect and support the communities they give voices to.
The report is the culmination of a two-year national qualitative audience study of Australian community broadcasting audiences conducted by Griffith University. Edge Radio contributed to the study by holding a focus group.
The Key findings are that audience members primarily 'tune in' for these principal reasons:
They perceive community radio to be accessible and approachable; They like the laid back, 'ordinary person' station presentation style, They want access to specialist and diverse music formats. Find more info about the research findings at CBOnlin

12/02/2007 - Edge Radio Serves Up Regatta Entertainment
Crowds at this year's Royal Hobart Regatta were treated to a special line-up of Tasmanian acoustic performing talent. Edge Radio was proud to present Amy Kendall, Oberon Carter, Bridget Pross, Adam Cousens, Nathan Burley and Michael Helman.
The focus of this year's Regatta was families and the Edge Radio Stage was, in particular, a drawcard for the family gathering.
A highlight of the event was Amy Kendall's performance to open the Regatta's musical finale on Monday evening - after she had been spotted earlier on the Edge Radio Stage.
And whilst it was difficult to compete with parachuting Red Berets breaking their legs, we believe the acoustic performances of Amy and others stole the show. (A special 'get better soon' goes out to that Red Beret).
