Vale Hugh Burridge
With great sadness we said goodbye to our Committee member, dedicated Edge volunteer and friend, Hugh Burridge, in July 2020. His endless joy and refusal to engage with the 'cannots' is how we will always remember him. Hugh's ideas inspired us and motivated us as a Committee and as people - he just never gave up and nothing was too hard. He was a smiling face at almost every Edge event, unless he was required to make an appearance at another event or was volunteering elsewhere. You see, Hugh was quite popular everywhere he went. He would walk you home, make you laugh, bring snacks to meetings, cheer you up when you were down, check on you during a pandemic - his ability to give was endless. We loved Hugh, and his work and legacy at Edge will not be forgotten.
We encourage everyone to ask yourself: "What would Hugh do?" If you're having a day where you're struggling to get stuff done, don't think, just do it. That's what Hugh would do. If you have always wanted to volunteer, do it. If you've always thought of supporting Hugh's favourite charity Movember, do it.
