What did you think when you were asked to be guest Music Directors?
Louis: What went through my head was, sweet, not I get to tell people what to listen to.
Pete: I has no idea what work was involved in being an MD. All the cataloging and organising that goes into it. I'm amazed.
How different is it from doing your own program?
Louis: It's not that different, really. But there's way more music the sift through. The influx of new music is non stop.
Pete: It's completely different. You don't get to be anywhere near as self-indulgent.
You've been doing it for almost a week now. What's the most surprising thing you've learnt so far?
Louis: I didn't realise how diverse the music Edge gets sent to it. I think I've discovered at least ten bands that I have a hard time describing.
Pete: I've been quite surprised at how little information some press releases give us. Some waffle on and don't really manage to tell us anything about their music. Top tip artists, good press releases are essential.
That'll do for now. Thanks Pete and Louis!
