Edge Radio offers a range of training courses that are available to the public, businesses and those interested in volunteering for the station.
Edge Radio Induction
Price: $70 standard | $50 concession
The 2 hour Edge Radio Induction course is mandatory for anyone wishing to volunteer at the station but not looking to become an on air host/co-host.
The cost of the course includes your first year of membership.

All sessions will be delivered in the Edge Radio Training Room located on the UTAS Sandy Bay Campus
Introduction To Radio Broadcasting - ONSITE
Price: $150 standard | $100 concession
Duration: Five weekly sessions, Thursdays 6.00 PM - 8.00 PM
Introduction to Radio Broadcasting introduces you to the world of radio and the underlying concepts and laws people in the media must follow along with an opportunity to have hands on time with studio equipment.
All station volunteers wishing to host, co-host or produce a radio show must complete this training prior to your show going live.
Any one wishing to host, co-host or produce a radio show must also complete the Edge Radio Induction.
The course is also open to those who wish to learn about being a radio broadcaster but don’t necessarily want to get on air.

Introduction to Podcasting - ONLINE
Price: $150 standard | $100 concession
Duration: Four weekly sessions, Thursdays 6.00 PM - 8.00 PM
Ever wanted to make a podcast? Dream of becoming a podcaster?
This course will give you practical advice and skills training for you to take your podcast from ideas to reality. Today, podcasting is more relevant than ever with global superstars like This American Life, Radiolab, Serial and S-Town attracting millions of listeners world-wide.
