The Committee of Management (COM) known as Tasmanian Youth Broadcasters Inc. are the governing body of Edge Radio 99.3FM. The COM is an incorporated association as outlined by the Tasmanian Government and falls under the Associations Incorporation Act 1964.
The Committee of Management of Tasmanian Youth Broadcasters Inc. provides governance and oversight to Edge Radio 99.3FM:
- Ensuring the station’s finances are sound and that no mismanagement has occurred;
- Ensuring the station is run legally and responsibly;
- Overseeing the long-term development and sustainability of the station;
- Representing the station to the rest of the community;
- Employing staff and overseeing their employment conditions and performance.
The COM is always available to hear feedback from members. For more detail regarding the Committee and its operations, read the documents below.
The next Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in the first quarter of 2025. Members will be notified of the location and given access to meeting papers ahead of the AGM. Please email the Committee for a link to the nomination form if you would like to join the Committee.
Why should you attend an AGM? As a financial member of the station, this is your opportunity to get involved and have a say in how the station operates and elect the Committee that serves you. Non-profit governance experience will help you learn how the business and bigger picture side works in a small, non-profit; you will be giving back to your community; and you will be able to lean on your skills and interests to contribute to Tasmania’s only youth radio station.

Vale Hugh Burridge
With great sadness we said goodbye to our Committee member, dedicated Edge volunteer and friend, Hugh Burridge, in July 2020. His endless joy and refusal to engage with the ‘cannots’ is how we will always remember him. Hugh’s ideas inspired us and motivated us as a Committee and as people – he just never gave up and nothing was too hard. He was a smiling face at almost every Edge event, unless he was required to make an appearance at another event or was volunteering elsewhere. You see, Hugh was quite popular everywhere he went. He would walk you home, make you laugh, bring snacks to meetings, cheer you up when you were down, check on you during a pandemic – his ability to give was endless. We loved Hugh, and his work and legacy at Edge will not be forgotten.
We encourage everyone to ask yourself: “What would Hugh do?” If you’re having a day where you’re struggling to get stuff done, don’t think, just do it. That’s what Hugh would do. If you have always wanted to volunteer, do it. If you’ve always thought of supporting Hugh’s favourite charity, Movember, do it.
