Introduction To Radio Broadcasting

Price: $220 standard | $150 concession (Includes your first year of Edge Radio membership)
Step into the studio and learn how to create and present your own radio show. This course is your pathway to getting on air at Edge Radio.
Through hands-on sessions at our UTAS Sandy Bay studio, you’ll learn the fundamentals of broadcasting, from using professional equipment to planning and delivering engaging content.
You’ll learn:
- How community radio works
- Studio equipment and panel operation
- Media law and broadcasting responsibilities
- Interview and presentation skills
- How to plan and run a radio program
- Using AMRAP and music systems
Required for all volunteers who want to host, co-host, or produce a show
Also open to anyone interested in learning radio skills

Got an idea for a podcast? We’ll help you bring it to life.
In this course, you’ll learn how to plan, record, edit, and publish your own podcast using accessible tools and real studio equipment. You’ll also get hands-on experience with the Rodecaster and recording workflows in a supportive environment.
You’ll learn:

- Planning a series and defining your audience
- Recording techniques and equipment
- Editing and production basics
- Publishing and distribution
- Media law and copyright essentials
