From one side of Bass Strait to the other, Teresa Dixon writes and plays gritty alt country folk songs of love, loss & hope. With her debut album Bass Strait under her belt, released in 2018 and recorded in her old home on the Bass Coast of Victoria, she has migrated further south and is now based in the Huon Valley, Tasmania. Dixon’s new self-produced album Way Down South, recorded by Jethro Pickett right on the Huon River, tells stories of the healing power of nature, place and reflection, and showcases her gravelly, honest voice and multi-instrumental talents on banjo and guitar.

Teresa has played many of the country’s major folk festivals as a member of trad country-folk trio, The Stragglers and convict folk punk outfit The Dead Maggies, and has recently made an impact with her solo material at The Huon Valley Mid Winter Festival with her new band Teresa Dixon & The Deep Blue Sea.
